Emission Differences in 1982 Mustangs

During the 1982 Mustang production year, there were multiple emission changes for the 5.0L engine. This survey will help in narrowing down those changes.
To participate in this survey, please have the following:

  • A 1982 Mustang with a 5.0L engine which still has some of all of the original emission controls.
  • The Vehicle Certification Label (door data plate) which is located on the end of the driver’s door or a Marti report that has that label.
  • The Vehicle Emission Control Information decal which is located on the underside of the hood on the driver’s side.

Engine Calibration Labels ( Part A ) : If your car still has the Engine Calibration Labels on the valve covers, please select the code that is on the label.

Engine Calibration Labels ( Part B ) : If you have the labels from part A, find the one that has been punched and enter in the date code. For example E17 from the image.
